Dec 5, 2013 11:59 AM in response to jmeyer.seyerby MrsStephenson,Just tried pushing the 'gone free' apps that wouldnt push yesterday without credit card and theyve all installed fine. Which is great news
Big test will be a paid app -
@jmeyer.seyer - have you pushed a paid app yet. I'm worried thats when I'll have problems.

Dec 5, 2013 12:01 PM in response to MrsStephensonby jmeyer.seyer,Hello MrsStephenson,
I have been successfully pushing paid apps since this morning. No credit card required (unless it was on a device that was previously messed up from before). I have setup about 7 iPads since this morning and all is working well so far.

Dec 5, 2013 12:38 PM in response to Techteach07by markfromsk,I wiped my ipad and logged in and iMovie started deploying to my ipad...
Hopefully i dont have to wipe everyones ipad out for managed distribution to start working..
Im going to try removing the credit card from my apple id>wipe ipad> sign back in to see if it will still deploy with no credit card.

Dec 5, 2013 1:01 PM in response to markfromskby markfromsk,Removed my credit card from my account>wiped ipad> signed in again and apps started deploying correctly.
However.. i tried again with an account we made yesterday (with "none" for payment option). Still not working.

Dec 5, 2013 3:08 PM in response to jmeyer.seyerby MrsStephenson,All good here also! Apple must have tweaked something between last evening and this. Phew! Though things were going to get far too messy for a while.
Now the only problem I have is deploying single app mode via profile manager. For some reason it will only deploy single app mode on apps purchased by the user/device Apple ID. I cannot get it to deploy single app mode on pushed VPP Managed Distribution Apps.
Anyone else experienced this or could test out theirs for me. Going to create a separate discussion for this one I think.
Many thanks
Mrs Stephenson

Feb 6, 2014 10:31 AM in response to Techteach07by SquidCow,First create users in your MDM that are part of the program. Your management program will take care of all this. It should send these users an email to join the program.
Then, you have to associate the apps to the users for Volume Purchase Program Managed Distribution
Push out apps and done.

Feb 19, 2014 12:00 PM in response to SquidCowby wrivet,I am using Meraki to deploy the VPP apps. Getting the error message first posted in this discussion.
"[12023] [MCMDMErrorDomain] The iTunes Store ID of the application could not be validated."
I have associated the apple ID with the VPP apps but the error still appears. ANy ideas?

Apr 15, 2014 2:14 PM in response to Techteach07by ALKader,I'm also getting this error message
- Code: 12023Domain: MCMDMErrorDomainThe iTunes Store ID of the application could not be validated.
Has this been addressed yet by Apple VPP?

Apr 16, 2014 4:58 AM in response to ALKaderby SquidCow,I'm guessing the users are not registered with the program. Can you check the users status? That message disappeared as soon as they accepted the invite.

Apr 16, 2014 8:44 AM in response to SquidCowby ALKader,Thanks for the reply SquidCow. They are licensed under the VPP Managed Distribution in my Meraki console. I have deployed purchased software before but for some reason, went back to the VPP and bought more licenses and now I cannot get those licenses to deploy. I'm checking with Cisco/Meraki to see if they have an answer but for now I'm stumped.

Apr 16, 2014 8:50 AM in response to ALKaderby ALKader,OK, I missed a step...here is the Meraki/Cisco step I missed:
(4) Grant license for desired app to user
- Navigate to the MDM > VPP page;
- Click on the 'Licensed applications' tab;
- Select the app to grant license for (if multiple VPP accounts have been added on the Org>Settings page, ensure the proper account is selected from the 'VPP account' drop-down menu);
- Select user and click on '+ Grant license to user(s);
- Confirm license access to selected number of users
Once this is done, go back to the user/device and re push the new apps out if they don't show up after this step 4 above. Meraki is slow to update so be patient because it can take a few minutes for it to refresh and update.
Hope this helps someone out!

Jun 30, 2014 2:31 PM in response to ALKaderby gilsurf,No luck on my end. And the app has installed via Merkai with a bunch of other users. The user is associated, license granted, etc. I guess I could try revoking the license and then re-granting it. Not sure how the 30 day grace period works.

Jul 4, 2014 9:43 PM in response to Techteach07by ddellereusd274,No Luck on my end either. I have enrolled a device following this document "Simplifying Device Enrollment and Content Distribution Using the Device Enrollment Program, the Volume Purchase Program, and the Casper Suite" following the steps. While this worked for 4 out of 5 devices, I still have one trying to install apps 4 hours later. If I look at the device in Self Service, two of the apps are just spinning. I have erased and started the device over two or three times with no luck. I am using Casper for MDM.
Finally got JSS to Change name from just IPAD to Amber’s iPAD and I got one app installed…eBackpack, but the other 4 will not install. I get failed commands. The iTunes Store ID of the application could not be validated. Then I will try again with the other 4 apps, Casper Focus being one of them. I install out of Self Service, one only. I get this every time. I have gone to Settings/iTunes& App Store making sure password is entered and it is.
This iPAD is driving me crazy.
I have a 120 devices to enroll and this will take forever if I have a 20% failure.

Mar 11, 2015 6:20 AM in response to markfromskby DFPS,I have come with the solution which might not be feasible option for many of you but you can try as it does works for me.
Tap Settings
Tap iTunes & App Store
Tap on your AppleID & Sign out
Go to your MDM App Store where you were requesting the App (To get your AppleID enroll in VPP)
Tap to request the App
Will prompt you for your AppleID & Password
Go back to your MDM App Store & Request the app again
Your app should start downloading on the device now.
