It's unfortunate none of the airs I tried worked, so I returned it. My iPad 4 works flawless though.

Having the same problem,  it approx on a daily basis and no pattern or special actions, it just reboots in addition I also often have the problem that it jumps out of an app can be when opening a mail or trying to open a web page - I hope Apple provides a fix, as it's rather annoying, but fear it's a hardware issue as I only see it on my iPad Air (64 GB / Wifi)

This happens all the time to me as well. It's incredibly frustrating and disconcerting.

Apple either isn't as rigorous about testing in this latest round of OS updates (iOS7 and Mavericks), or they found these bugs and decided to ship the software anyway.

People only pay "the Apple tax" because things are supposed to work perfectly and be designed well. How long will this crap go on before people start to reconsider that?

Honestly, I think when Apple lost Steve Jobs, they lost a critical structural component. I'm not saying the company is going downhill without him, but things have definitely changed and will continue to change as employees and board members get cycled out like in any other corporation.

Not to mention, they're enormously popular and have to meet intense demands at a fast pace... especially if they're going to stay on this annual update cycle.

My Ipad 2 randomly restarts several times a day.  The only time it doesn't is when I am reading a book.  It is extremely annoying, to the point where I am not using it for anything but reading a book.  What is the problem?

This is a known issue and will be fixed in an update (likely 7.1).

  • csallai Level 1 (0 points)

Same issue on my iPad air brand new and four gen iPad mini.... Very frustrating.

Yes, this happens on my ipad air, ipad 3rd Gen and iPhone 5.  This has to be an iOS 7 issue!

Hey there. It would appear that with the restarting, resetting, and re buying, you have been restoring from iCloud. Try syncing to a computer with iTunes and then restore everything manually  app by app, song by song. It may seem tedious  but I had the same issue and it hadn't resent in 2 months

    Hope this helps!

I did the restore via USB with iTunes, didn't work. I performed a recovery with iTunes, didn't work. I set the ipad up as an entirely new device, which requires the user to manually re-download all itunes/App Store purchases to the device, set up preferences in settings, etc. Awful, tedious experience. Didn't work. Nothing worked. I was told by apple reps to exchange the device. I exchanged it twice, having a total of three ipad airs. None of them worked, all experienced the same issue. So I refunded it. Haven't looked back.

Now that the 7.1 update has finally arrived, has anyone with an air and exprienced these issues found the update has improved the ipad or totally corrected the issue?

My ipad worked pretty much flawlessy until I updated to 7.1 - now I'm also a member of  the 'Random Reboot Club'

That much to 7.1 resolving this issue - it may have resolved the issue for some batches (manufacturing lots)  but at the same time added some new -until then flawlessly operating- batches to the mix.

With posts dating back years, the IOS updates appear to me as a mere patchwork of the symptoms without Apple actually knowing the real cause for this issue ?

My mini is also randomly restarting.  For me it started when I "upgraded" to 7.1.  None of the "fixes" work.  Wish Apple would acknowledge the problem...
