Ever since downloading ios7 I am unable to delete emails. Deleted emails reappear as unread. Any fix?

I've already tried deleting and reinstalling account. I've also already contacted my university, who said issue is on Apple ios7's end and nothing they can do about it. Help!!?

This work around works every time on my 4, 4S and 5S all with IOS7. The 4 and 4S with IOS6 never had this problem. Delete the very first email in the inbox even if you want to keep it. Then the other emails will delete and not return. Hope someone at Apple at a high level can use this clue to fix IOS7 mail platform bug.
