Q: iPhone/iPad/iCloud e-mail change

I have changed the e-mail address on my Apple-ID. iCloud did not register the new address on my "other' decices (iphones, ipad) and is stuck on the old address. Grey colour under settings. I cant back-up now. I've read the comments about creating a new ID with the old e-mail, but I-tunes still recognize the old e-mail and will not allow it.

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4, iPad 2 as well
