How can I import windows live mail 2012 contacts into my iPad/iCloud
Can I import Windows Live Mail 2012 contacts into my iPad/iCloud? If so how? Have tried exporting from Windows as VCF files but they are unreadable by iCloud.
iPad, iOS 7.0.4

I must warn you, it's not the most sophisticated route... but it works! Helping mom move her Live Mail contacts to iPhone/iPad/iCloud was tedious BUT I was able to transfer them this way:
1. Select contacts (a few at a time, at first) in Live Mail, then click export. Select vcard format and save to Desktop.
2. Then, create an email to send to your iPhone/iPad and attach the vcards created in step 1.
3. Open the email on your device and you'll find all the contact vcards listed. Open (one at a time, I'm afraid:( and automatically you're prompted to create/edit existing contact.
I did it over a few days to keep me from throwing her stupid PC across the room, but I finally got through 200+ contacts. And, since she's finally coming over from the Dark Side to Mac we won't be doing this exercise again when she upgrades her laptop.
Now, all the iPad & iPhone contacts are seamless in her iCloud mail account and she can access them on her PC from the iCloud control panel. You can read the directions and download it here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html
Good Luck!
Thanks for your suggestion which I believe does work for some but didn't for me.
However I have found a solution which has worked brilliantly which is by using GMail.
Having synched GMail to my Live mail I then did the same to the Ipad Mail from GMail. Bingo all the contacts have arrived.
Sorted.🙂
It may push poor genlotus over the edge of insanity, but, Yes....there is an easier way.
Directions how...

I added the cloud to my old PC to sync information to the cloud 4 years ago. No longer use that PC, but the cloud worked then, it works better now.
Lol....I just read you found another easy solution without a months worth of data entry.
I always stick with the notion that these devices were invented for the benefit of the smart and lazy person's benefit.
You and I proved it!
