Your audio file has probably a DMR protection. You cannot use protected songs in GarageBand, you can only import song without digital right restrictions.

On your Mac you could backup the backing Track to CD (burn an Audio CD) and reimport. The iTunes Store entitles you to make backup copies on CD. But I do not know, if the digital rights associated with your particular song will allow burning to audio CD like for songs bought from the iTunesStore.
