Photo duration and transitions

HELP! Working on an imovie using all photos. Imported them from my iphoto. Layed them out in my time line. Am trying to set transitions between each photo and it keeps telling me that the duration is not long enough. How can I get around this? ALso, there are about 100 photos - anyway to set this so it will apply to all? Just want a simple fade from each one. HELP HELP! THanks!

Hi acookseyw - welcome to the forum!
Check the duration of the transitions, controlled by the slider in the Transitions Pane. They do not have to be very long to be effective. Also, make sure that your photos have been set to a long enough duration to accept the transition.
You can apply transitions to all, or a group of pics. Select them, then in the Transitions pane, establish the style and duration you want, then hit Apply.
You may find that a fade (fade-in or fade-out) is not the best choice for the transitions - instead, a Cross-Dissolve maybe?
