As far as I can tell, several different models of Classic use the A1238 identification, perhaps all models of Classic.
Perhaps we can help if you can supply the following information about your iPod:
- Version number; found on the iPod under Settings/About>Version
- Capacity in GB
- The last three digits of your iPod's serial number
