Try removing and reinserting the sim card.

2. Take out Sim Card and insert it again then restart it.
3. Take it out, restart, then if it STILL does not work, Go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings, and repeat step 1 and 2.
If it doesn't work after that, you may need a new Sim Card, your carrier may give you one for free if this is the first time.
