iTunes not displaying playlist, photo album names for iPhone

I have spent several hours trying to figure this out, maybe someone else has had this problem, but I have been unable to find a thread with it.

When trying to select the playlists, videos, movies, pics, etc to sync to my iPhone 5c (iOS 7.0.4), iTunes [11.1.3(8)] fails to display the names of any of the respective playlists, photoalbums etc. It does display the selectable boxes but there are no visable names associated with them. With this being hard to explain I have taken a screen shot to better display this:

Note: Same thing happens with all categories to sync.

Any tips or ideas to reaquire visable names would be appreciated. Thank you.
