Q: Question
Hello, I have an Ipod touch version 2.2.1 (5H11a) I am trying to update os to 4.2.1. Every time I try the update it fails, an error message say's ipod could not be restored. An unknown error occoured -1 which says it may need a service. Is a service the only option?

Error -1
Attempt to restore your iOS device two more times. If the issue is still unresolved, the device may need service.
The "device may need service" means a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
