Change White Text to Black

I've been googling to find a solution to a basic problem and cannot believe what I'm reading. The issue is white text/white background in the text messaging app. I NEED to change the text color from white to black and cannot believe this is not possible.

Could someone please tell me how to do it because it has to be possible.

Please don't say use the invert video option because this is NOT a workable solution.

I am using iOS 7.0.4 and I have seen white text in a blue/green bubble but that is not the same as "white text on a white background". Note that your original post said, "The issue is white text/white background in the text messaging app".

If you are asking if the white on green or white on blue can be changed then i believe the answer is no, that cannot be changed.

Meg St Clair - Puh leeez !!! - As I said in my original question - Invert colours is NOT a practical solution - (Jeez )

JimHDK - Thankyou for your reply - tried your solution - no joy. If you've not seen white text in the text messaging app (albeit in a blu/green bubble) on a white background, then you cannot have "up"graded to IOS7 and my recommendation would be DON'T DO IT - you will be as upset as I with the cheap/barely legible appearance. There are a million folks complaining about this issue - there has to be a solution to such a basic issue.

White text on a white background? I've never seen that in Message.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?

Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPhone shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.

Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

Sorry Meg - it's just that this issue is really getting my goat! - the whole appearance is a real step backwards from what I was used to - but I could learn to live with it - if only I could make it as legible as IOS6. Who in there right mind would think white text is more legible than black - I'm not against change, but change for change sake? I can't think of a good reason for this particular change. I frequently swich from app to app and when I do I don't want to triple click each time and besides, my home screens have photos - I don't want to look at negatives every time I go home etc All that was required was for Apple to give the option to change the text to black.
