what if u can not find the mobilesync option while trying to recover the backup of your iPad from your macbook pro?

guys i synced my ipan mini to my macbook pro and restored the backup...i tried to recover it by the guidelines of one of the former discussions that i read in the apple support page...but i am having trouble in finding the mobilesync option all together.....i have entered application support but cant go on further....please help me asap...
