A gyroscope is not something you install. It is a part of the hardware built in to an iPad. 1st generation iPad's do not have a gyroscope, they have a (simpler) accelerometer only. The iPad 2,3,4 and Air all have gyroscopes.

If you have an iPad 1st gen. and the app requires a gyroscope, then you cannot use that app. Sorry, but you would have to buy a newer iPad in that case.

AFAIK, the gyroscope (aka the tilt sensor) is a hardware component present in all iPads of recent vintage. In other words, you can't "install" it. However, some apps may need some sort of auxilliary support in the form of extra code to access and exploit the data the gyro and other sensors provide.

If you are referring either to the magnetic sensor (aka the compass) or the GPS/GLONASS position sensor instead, those are not available in Wi-Fi iPad models, only in those with Cellular/GSM access.
