Can you get windows on an iPad air ?
No. Windows is not capable of running on the iPad.
Allan
You can, however, find apps that are compatible with Microsoft Office documents, and you can take control of a Windows computer from an iPad. If you'll state what you wish to accomplish, we can probably offer suggestions. If you really did just want to run Windows on an iPad, then as Allan said that's not possible. The only true tablet device currently offered that I know of that can run a full version of Windows is Microsoft's Surface Pro.
Regards.
I was going to buy a surface 2, the girl in the shop said that you can get an app for windows on the iPad so I bought one, I wanted it to use word and excel.
There are a number of apps that are compatible with Office documents. Apple makes iOS versions of their own iWork apps (Pages, Keynote, Numbers) that are available free if you purchase a new iOS device and that can be purchased separately for older devices. There are also 3rd party combined suites that cost less than the separate Apple apps. Ones often recommended include Documents 2 Go, Quickoffice and Office2 HD.
If you can accept needing a network connection whenever you want to use the apps and have an Office 365 subscription, Microsoft has just released their Office Mobile app, though it has significant limitations. Or a server-based solution such as CloudOn might be an option for you.
Regards.
Microsoft has not yet written a version of Office for the iPad.
As Varjak Paw says you can find apps that will allow you to work with documents from Word and Excel of the iPad.

Sounds complicated, I think I'll take it back and get the surface.
Good luck
Not complicated at all. The various apps work quite well. But if you want the full version of Office natively on the tablet, though, then you will indeed need the Surface. If you want to be able to run standard Windows apps, you'll need the Surface 2 Pro, not the Surface 2.
Regards.
The girl in the shop was wrong.
She was saying you can get apps to process office docs.
Note: You are running Windows on a MS table. You get all the features of Windows: malware & need to administrator windows. I'd rather not administor my tablet. I found the minimize, enlarge and close icons too small. Easy to tap close when you ment to tap enlarge. OPS.
