When using iPad calendar day view, the first appointment is automatically selected

Ever since I updated to the new iPad Air with iOS 7, the calendar has a bug in the day view. The first appointment is automatically selected, so the left half of the screen shows the times of the day and various appointments, and the right side shows the details of that specific appointment, instead of being blank. The problem exists when I have a full day appointment that pulls in from a calendar I subscribe to. That appointment is highlighted and I can't access any of the other appointments for the day.
