Basked on advice I got, I updated the very latest IOS update, backed up my iPhone, checked again to verify that apps were still not visible but showed as "INSTALLED" on App Store and then RESET ALL CONTACTS AND SETTINGS. It's taking forever BUT still notice missing apps. Example, Starbucks app visible yesterday but not today! BUT when under WiFi, I go to App Store and next to app, I see "OPEN". Once I opened it there, it became visible on my screen. But this isn't consistent as my app screens drop off before the "Z" icons are supposed to be visible. Ex: Zappos. App is missing, so I go to App Store and see OPEN next to app, click it open and it does but when I close out of it, still no visible icon on my screen pages. I leave for Sweden next week, I must have visible icons on screen like WhatsApp and these others, I can't just connect to App Store to open. Also note my pic here, I did a routine RESET HOME SCREEN LAYOUT to get all my apps in alphabetical order, Apple's intent is to revert back to home screen exactly as it's set up out of box. Note MY home screen, it has two icons there that I do have but never moved them to home screen. I believe RESETTING HOME SCREEN is where these problems began. Thoughts? Thx!
It removes all the system preferences and settings for things such as iCloud, mail, iMessages etc. So you should not lose photos - though if they're in PhotoStream you'll have to reconnect to your iCloud account - or apps, but you will probably lose messages.
What problem are you having that you think you need to reset the settings?
Regards.

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
Thanks for your reply. I have an app stuck on "waiting" and it has been for about 2 weeks now. I was dowloading an app but I didn't have any storage left, so it just froze. The delete button doesnt come up if I hold it down, so how do I delete it?
Try powering the iPod off by holding down the "sleep" button until you get the "swipe to turn off", then back on. That usually fixes the issue of apps stuck on "waiting". If you have the iPod set to download new purchases automatically - Settings -> iTunes & App Store - you'll probably have to turn that off or the iPod will just try again to download the app.
Regards.
Try a reset by pressing and holding the Sleep and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo. That won't delete any of your apps or content, but may clear the cache file holding onto that download. If that still doesn't fix the problem, you may need to restore your iPod, but someone else here may have additional suggstions.
Regards.
I upgrade iPhone 6 to 9.3.3, now last three screen pages of apps are no longer visible. ex: no Twitter icon. If I go to App Store and find Twitter, it says "installed" so i still have them but they are hidden. I never put apps in folders, noticed when I tried to move an app onto the last page a "productivity" box came up containing the app I just moved & 2 others. I don't want folders. If some were made how do I find them and extract apps back to my phone pages?
Also, another thing to try is to sign completely out of iTunes, do a Hard Reset (press HOME key and ON/OFF key at same time), wait until Apple logo leaves screen and then sign back into iTunes thru iTunes under SETTINGS
Try the following steps:
1. Tap settings.
2. Scroll down and tap general.
3. Scroll down and tap reset.
4. Tap reset homescreen layout.
5. A dialogue box will appear on your screen. Choose "reset homescreen."
Good luck!
I do these as a matter of course to get all my apps in alphabetical order. However after 9.3.3 I did a reset of home screen and I believe this is where the problem happened. It's weird too as its NOT the home screen as you'd get from a new iPhone, there are two apps beginning with "T" on the resulting home page which are ones that should reside on the half of the "t apps" that are missing.
If I try to move the two icons from the home page back to the T page, there's only enough room on my final page for one so the second app also disappears on these "hidden" app pages. Also a reset results in two apps on home screen, one right on top of the other one. If I hold top one down, all shake so I can move them except for the one underneath, if it moves at all, it moves from bottom to top & back again, still two icons one on top of the other,
DId notice this: when I moved "T app" from home page to last page that's visible, i got a pop up called PRODUCTIVITY" and it captured app I was moving PLUS had two other apps inside. I've NEVER used folders, resetting the home screen can mess with folders if you have them. I wonder if I have some folders and don't know it? Where do I find these folders OR as a result of the reset of home screen could it have dissolved the folders but left the apps within hidden somewhere? From the Ts on are missing app icons. Ex: I have no more Twitter app. BUT, if I go to the App Store, it says Twitter is INSTALLED. So the apps are hidden somewhere.....how do I restore them to be visible as icons on my screen? Thanks!
Resetting all setting only removes your preferences (e.g., connect wifi networks), No data or apps, music are removed.
On my iPod 4g it says 'Reset All Settings' in Settings>General>Reset. Its just above the 'Erase All Content and Settings'?
Are my imessages affected?
Thankyou for your reply. I have tried both and none of them have worked. Anything else that I could try?
On my daughters iPhone 4s, she has no sound through right speaker when connected to headphones and bluetooth devices. If I try a reset, will she lose her apps?
