This Projects folder is just an alias. Have you tried removing it from the Sidebar and then replacing it from its home in Finder? Is the Projects folder itself (that is, where it lives in Finder) looking the way it should?

Yes I did this. I also tried moving the whole projects folder to a different location and dragging it onto the sidebar from there also. All the other sidebar shortcuts are fine from the 'real' folder, or from an alias. Also, all my sidebar shortcuts actually vanished (apart from the default Movies/Music/Pictures etc) vanished the other day, but I assume this is an unrelated issue as they had been fine for some time.

I might recreate the Projects folder, by making a new folder and dragging all of the items from the old Projects folder to the new one. See if that works in the Sidebar. If it doesn't, you may have an issue with your Finder prefs which may require deleting its .plist file, then restarting and resetting your Finder preferences.

OK, so moving all the files out pf the folder into a new one, deleting the offending folder, then renaming and relocating the files seems to have worked…
I've noticed a few people with the same issue here, but no fixes had been posted. Hopefully this will help someone else too. Thanks Tuttle for the input!
