Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with Wi-Fi connectivity on your iPhone 4s. The following resource may help to resolve your issue:

1. Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
2. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your W-Fi setting is dimmed,follow these steps.
3. Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for assistance.
5. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
6. Tap and Forget this Network.
7. Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
8. Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
9. Update your device to the latest version of software.
10. Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.

Wi-Fi disconnects or signal strength is less than expected
1. Move closer to the Wi-Fi router (access point).
2. Check for sources of potential interference.
3. Remove any case, stand, or other accessories from your iOS device and see if signal strength improves.
4. Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including
- previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
- recently used Bluetooth accessories
- VPN and APN settings

I downloaded a wifi checking tool and whilst it sees the network and ip when I go to run test it says...........cannot reach host through any TCP ports 80, 8557, 8558, 9527, 9258. Costing me a fortune in data not being able to avail of wifi networks. Help appreciated

I have been experiencing the same issue since December and have been bounced between Apple and Vodafon UK... I have searched the internet and found that there are thousands of cases of IPhone 4's with wifi issues, this appears to be created by the recent IOS upgrade, therefore a fault caused by apple.
I am using excessive data at a premium and no one will take responsibility, apple want to charge me for looking at the phone for an isse they have created... I am shocked and really thinking about why I trust apple. I have 2 ipads in the house, 3 iphones, a macbook pro and an ipod... They may well be the last apple products I buy unless someone takes ownership and responsibility.
I am very angry right now!

I even went to the Apple store where I was told by the Apple Rep I could buy a new phone or see if enough cases of this issue get documented by Apple and they issue new phones for free. I don't understand if the issue is from me uploading the newest version of the IOS then why are we at fault. My iPhone 4s is my first apple product and I don't plan on buying any others because of the lack of support from Apple to fix this.

Apr 11, 2014 11:44 AM in response to Shane fonby Ant1974,My wife has the same problem since last night I've tried restarting the phone,connecting to my pc and updating iTunes but still won't let me turn on wifi.Apple need to sort this out as there is clearly a problem after the iOS update.
