Intel GMA 950 graphics processor

What is your take on the Intel GMA 950 graphics processor ?
What scenario would get you thinking about switching to a Macbook Pro just for the video card? Thanks, Greg.

For me it would be either playing games that would need to take advantage of 3d processing like many fps games or if the laptop is my only machine and I need to do some heavy duty Aperture work.

I use aperture on my Macbook and its good, surprisingly fast in most areas a little slow in some others.

For me the MB is a good fit but I don't play games and I use aperture lightly on it.

Well, I don't do processor intensive tasks like heavy photo editing, or video processing, editing. I mainly use my Macbook for recreational use - my processor temp rarely peaks above 65 degrees C. And if I WERE to do those types of tasks, if I were serious about my photo editing and video editing/processing (iDVD, iMovie), then I wouldn't buy a MBP, I'd buy a dual (or quad) processor Power Mac G5 (since there is not Intel Power Mac yet). That's just my opinion. Not that the MPB couldn't handle it, but I'm sure it would be much better on a machine designed for such tasks.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

If someone was serious about graphic designing, video editing, or computer gaming on a laptop - that would be a reason to get the MBP.

Could always get an Imac Intel Core Duo for games/graphically heavy aplications & a Macbook. That would cost only a couple hundred $$ more than the 17 inch MBP.

Its not for running the latest games or doing heavy 3d work however for general usage its fine.

It will run world of warcraft if you don't mind turning the draw distance down although according to titan panel i get 10fps in some places, while that may sound bad its not wow is perfectly playable on it (do wander if that counter is accurate) Obvisouly its nothing near my x800 pro in my desktop pc but considering i bought the macbook as a sub 15" notebook to travel with and not for its game playing ability im pretty happy with the peformance of the Gma 950

, warcraft 3 runs brillantly on the macbook.

those are the only 2 games ive tryed on it so far.
