iOS 7 reading list

I have an iPhone 5 and ever since the ios 7 update, the reading list no longer works. Whenever I try to load a saved article, it tells me I can't read it because I'm not connected to the internet. This happens on my iPad mini as well. Any help would be appreciated.

I tried all those steps, and it still doesn't work. I still get a message saying it can't load the article because I'm not connected to the internet. The step where I go to a secure website to see if I have access to the two ports is confusing. The link leads me to the manage my Apple ID page and gives no indication what to do next.

I have no issues surfing the web. It's the Safari Reading List that's my problem. When I save an article on the reading list, and try to read it on a plane or the subway when I have no internet connection, the article won't load. The whole point of the reading list is to be able to read articles offline and I can't do that.

I think I got it.

You need two things:

Settings>Safari>Use Cellular data for reading list

Settings>iCloud>Safari - it will merge Safari data with iCloud.

Now there seems to be an issue with this switching off automatically. It did it as I watched once. Not sure why and I did have to go back and set it again so this may not he a complete fix but I think we are closer that the previous suggestions.

I don't like that my reading list is saved on the cloud, unnecessary and not private but there you go. That is Apple for you.

I have the same problem, I think the Settings>Safari>Merge with iCloud thing should work as this is the equivalent of signing into your safari, thus allowing you to save the page in to your personal cloud storage. The only problem I foresee is that surely u need a data connection to access your cloud based stored items...? And a s for using cellular data connection, I have a wifi only device not 3/4G so not possible.

I have tried to download an app that can achieve an offline option but my device isn't compatible. If you are on I.O.S 7+ you should be able to download Pocket for free from App Store, unfortunately I'm on an iPad 1 and am restricted to I.O.S 5.1.1
