Java 7 update 45 install permission problem

I have Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63) and I am trying to install Java 7 Update 45 from Oracle. When I do I get the following error message from the installer

I get the same sort of error when I try to install either the JRE or the JDK DMG that I downloaded from Oracle. I went into the package and the user that owns the file is not ROOT, but instead another user on the machine (not the one that downloaded the file). I need this specific version installed on my machine for a project I am working on, so not installing java or not working with java will not work. Can someone help me?
