I would love to put external links in the glossary

does any one have an idea if this can be done?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4), Mac mini, iPhone 4, iPad2

I find no way to make an active link using text in the Glossary and Apple would seem to have decided its not going to be an option.
