Computer Refuses To Start

My MacBook Pro won't start up. Every time I try to start it, it comes up with this message: "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button until it turns off, then press the Power button again."

Behind that is this error message (May not be 100% accurate--just a few characters were covered by the restart message)

panic(cpu 0 caller 0xffffff800053e12f): "Process 1 exec of /sbin/launchd failed, errno 8"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-1699.24.8/bsd/kern/kern_exec.c:3546

Then you can use the Onlin Internet Recovery system to boot the system from and do some drive verifying and repairs with Diosk Utility.

At startup hold down the Command + Option/Alt + r keys and keep them held down until you see a globe on the screen.

From the screen that loads use Disk Utility to verify and repair the drive and also do a Permissions verify and repair.
