Text Animation in Final Cut Pro X

I'm trying to animate some text in FCP X but it's just not working.

What I am trying to do, is animate the tracking option in the text section of the inspector. I can animate the scale and position of the text (under the video tab in the inspector), but when I try to add keyframes into any of the option under the text tab, nothing animates. I've tried animating the blur of the text as well, and nothing happens when I play the video back.

However, the parameters change in between keyframes, and Apple did put the option to create keyframes for all of the text/font options... I feel like I'm missing something or can you simply not animate any text or font parameters?
