I have the iphone 5s with ios7 from the US, am visiting Europe, and my phone is not recognizing any cellular networks. I have tried turning phone, airplane mode, cellular, and roaming on and off, and selecting the networks manually, nothing works. Any suggestions?

Which cellular service nanoSIM are you using? Or are you trying to roam?
Who is your cellular provider on that phone and did you set up international use with them before you left the States?
Your American Cellular service plan may not have Roaming features enabled. Contact your Cell carrier to find out. Roaming can incurr additional charges.
Alternatively you coud go to a local Cell shop in Europe and buy a pay as you go Nano sim card for use while you are there.

And did you go to AT&T and set up international roaming and rates before you left?
Go into any Cell store that sells iPhones and Ask for Help..........
ps. I travel all over Europe with my US iPhone 5s.. I always call my carrier AT&T before I travel
and check that my settings are as I require............They do make mistakes..
Also you should have a FREE contact number for your Carrier...Call Them..
You may be in an area where AT&T has no roaming partners.
my boyfriend is travelling with me and has the iphone 5, same account settings and phone settings, only did not make the ios7 update, and his is working on AT&T roaming. i am unfortunately in a rural area for the duration of my trip and will not have access to a store until we depart
