My clock won't keep the correct time, when the screen is off it does not update correctly. I have tried using auto set and enabling the option in location services, and I have tried doing a manual set. In either scenario, when the screen is off, the clock stops counting time. I'm on an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4.

I wish this wasn't possible but it is indeed happening. If anyone could offer some useful information, I would be greatly appreciative.
When this happens, if I go into the settings and toggle the auto set off and on, it will temporarily correct the time. Then, when the screen shuts off, it will stop adjusting the time correctly. I have even tried resetting the phone and restoring from a backup, same issue.
Restore it as a new device. Do NOT restore your backup. If it still has the same problem, make an appointment at the genius bar.

You can call Apple Help, if your iPhone is out of Warranty Call Apple Corp & speak with Customer Services
They can arrange a change over via Fedex/UPS...
Do you have AppleCare? - even if Not call Apple..

Okay, so I got home and erased all settings and content, and set up as a new iPhone. This still didn't solve the issue. I have scheduled an appointment for Apple to call me tomorrow, hopefully this will get resolved.

I found this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4347494?start=15&tstart=0 that discusses several other people having the same issue. My phone is on Straight Talk but running through TFW carrier (which is Verizon's CDMA towers), and apparently perhaps the data signal is somehow messing up the date and time.
I will still talk to Apple tomorrow and see what they can tell me.
Okay, so I found an solution. I can't speak for all other CDMA-based carriers (which seems to be the issue), but as a customer of Straight Talk, I called them and they registered some kind of update with my device that allows communication between their leased towers and my device (as if it wasn't already on it? 😝).
Regardless, if you're experiencing this issue, call your carrier first to see if there's anything they can do for you, as this doesn't seem to be an Apple device issue. Cheers, all! 🙂
Careful though! The carrier update broke my mobile data and they said that there's nothing else they can do and I should get a replacement devices.
Mine won't keep the time with it locked or otherwise. I'm really getting frustrated. And I Know for a fact that my iPhone is compatible with the towers. My last phone died and I had it insured. This one is a replacement. I've my iPhone for going on three years and I NEVER had any problems with the time.
I called straight talk like you said, but the operator just told me it was a device issue and there was nothing she could do. I even read this post to her, but it didn't help.
