Unknown certificate messages in Safari -annoying

I keep on getting unknown certificate messages when I use Safari. This is really getting annoying as any site that has a sign in process just hangs as these certificate messages popu up. Does anyone know what is going on and how to get rid of them?

What can i change in my settings? I have looked everywhere but I cannot find anything for accepting or declining certificates.
