Volume adjust button fix for ios7

This just happened to me out of the blue about an hour ago. Everything was working just fine and then boom, no sound at all and my side buttons are not working. The bell still shows up when I hit the buttons, but the actual volume bar does not appear. Now, my speakers work just fine too because when I go to my seeting and adjust my ringtone, the tone starts playing just fine and my side buttons work for the volume bar in the settings menu for the ringtone. But when I go to my home screen, nothing works. If anyone can help me fix this, I would be very appreciative. This is very annoying and I want it fixed as soon as possible.
