How do I import MULTIPLE audio files into Logic?

Hello Everybody,

this is a great forum and I don't know what took me so long to join. Well, I'm here and all yours now too.

Power-using Creator and Notator about twenty years ago, then switching back to my trusted PPG's (because MIDI s@#$%), and finally ending up investing in my even more trusted Synclavier, which is still the best regarding timing and dynamics, here I am in 2006 using Logic. More later...

Almost everyday I am transferring files to ProTools systems using the beautiful "File>Export>All Tracks as Audio Files..." feature of Logic. It works flawlessly. Every track lines up in PT without any problems ever.

Of course, I am also receiving audio files from PT sessions. Many of them.

So, here is my question (and I hate to state it this way, almost making PT sound like a professional application to consider working on, lol):

"How do I import multiple audio files into Logic?"

ProTools does it. You just select all of the audio files, and PT converts and imports to seperate audio tracks. We should be able to do this in Logic, shouldn't we?

Thanks for your ideas on this.

Not really,
but I am happy to report that I found the solution:
AVOID Logic's "Audio>Import Audio File..." window, if you need to import 54 tracks.
Make sure you have enough Audio Tracks available in Logic's arrange window.
Select Audio Track 1 in Logic.
Highlight (select all) tracks) from your source DVD or disk.
Drag all of them to Audio track 1 in Logic and the position you determined in transport.
Beautiful.

Why don't we get this within the Logic application?

Thanks everyone.

yep,that too.

it will ask you >> create new tracks> if you don't already have the number of tracks as the amount of tracks you want to add

just woke up!so i need litres of coffee for that brain to start working.

You're welcome Ralf

Easy on the coffee Immo - enjoy! Love that stuff myself.

Yes, Logic asks you about the tracks.
Just wanted to avoid others making importing mistakes, where they overwrite every other track in the arrange window.

Thanks for the welcome note. During the 80's and early 90's, I often worked in London. Love that city!
Best,
Ralf
