Does Safari on iPhone take you to "iforgot" automatically?

Just wondeirng if it can do this, as I've occasionally noticed that when I flip over to safari, it's open to Apple's "iforgot.apple.com" password retreival site.

Maybe I've hit something by accident ot take me there in Safari, but at least once I'm sure I didn't, and Safari just opened on that page.

CAn it take you there if it thinks your password is wrong or missing? Like for icloud bookmarks or keycahin or something?

Cheers.

Yes, I know it wouldn't be normal, just wondering if it was possible.

Either Safari is sending me to the iforgot site (very rarely, but it would seem this isn;t the first time - and there is precendent - doing a search shows that a small number of examples of people being cosntantyl redirected to the iforgot site, although that is not my exact issue), or another app is.

For example, maybe iCloud safari settings require a logon, and perhaps a small hiccup in the server initially fails to recognise the deivce so the apps are programmed to send me to iForgot.

I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or know this to be the case, or otherwise there's some possible malware issue on my iPhone.

I don't think so. Itseems to be Apple's https://iforgot.apple.com site. (of course I didn't sign in with my password, just in case).

THe URL shows iforgot.apple.com, and the header is green from apple.com (I guess showing a secure site and certificate from that site).

Here's a link to others who get the issue more consistently:

Just curious to know if people CAN or HAS seen this before. It's an oddity.

If you try to log into your Apple ID through Settings>iCloud or Settings>iTunes and App Store and you don't know your information, there is a link at the bottom of the page that will open that page in Safari. Once that tap is open, it will stay open in Safari until you close it. Has someone been trying to log into an account from your phone?
