My Gen 5 iPod Touch keeps deleting music.

I will add downloaded content and CDs I have uploaded and then when I listen to my iPod they aren't there but if I connect it to my Macbook they will be visible on the iPod but with a grey circle with an exclamation point next to them. I have re-downloaded the same content I've never had this issue with any of my iPods in the past. Could it be this specific iPod?

iPod touch, iOS 7.0.4

That happens sometimes:

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Unsync all music and resync

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
