Does that apply to scatter graphs such as the example at the bottom left of the above diagram or just line and bar chart combinations?
I can only get two axis with a line-bar.
You could superimpose two scattery charts on top of each other and add the 2nd y axis on the right manually. There is also a really good graphing program called DataGraph (from the App store) which will do any graph you can imagine and ones you cannot image.
Thanks Wayne. When I need to create a 2 Y axis chart I'll have to carry on using Excel! š
Maybe Numbers 4 will catch up!! š
There is also LibreOffice which can make two-axis charts
Everyone but poor old Numbers!! š
Thanks
You may post feedback to Apple using the menu item "Numbers > Provide Numbners Feedback"
Ipad give an example of the 2 axis graph within Numbers, but try as hard as I can I cannot replicate the 2nd Y2 axis on the right hand side, you will see my attempt below but the curve is too flat as it is using the left hand (larger) scale? Any ideas where I am going wrong? How do I insert the new scale to the right on an Ipad?
Thx Paul
Hi Schrodinger,
Does that apply to scatter graphs
Please reply with an example of what data you would plot on a scatter graph that requires 2 Y axes. Or are you asking about a 3 dimensional X Y Z graph?
Regards,
Ian.
Thank you, I realised after I was on a mac discussion thread, I have found the same chart type for the 2axis graph within the Ipad options now so your comments did help.
Thank you
Do you have any addional open issues?
Nope all done.. Thank you

Hi Ian
This is the data table I'd like to plot on 2 Y-axes.
All three sets of data can be plotted on a single axis but to separate the reactants from the products I'd like to plot the decrease in concentration of the reactants the [ClO-] & [ Br-] on one Y axis and the increase in the concentration of the products [BrO-] & [Cl-] (sorry I can't do superscript on the forum but the minus signs) on a second Y axis.
Just having a play with Wayne's idea. What the audience sees:
What goes on behind the curtain:
Two graphs overlaid on the left. A white rectangle to hide one Y axis. Third graph to supply 2nd Y axis on the right. Another white rectangle to hide remainder of graph on right. I had to play with sending backwards and forwards to get the right order. At least the 2nd Y axis will be dynamic, as opposed to static text boxes.
DataGraph anyone? š
Regards,
Ian.
