Why can't I remove my debit card from my account? Why do I have to make another account and do the run around for updates? Come on apple, I have spent a lot of personal time giving your products props, I don't want to get a sour taste now.

Why is there such an issue about removing my debit card from my account? This is an issue that needs to be resolved without me having to create a new account..

Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card

If None is not available - On your computer launch iTunes and click "iTunes Store" in the left navigation pane. Click the "down arrow" next to your name at the top right side of the page and click "Account." Enter your username and password and click "View Account" to log into your account information. Next to your Payment Type, click "Edit." Select the "None" button and click "Done." Confirm that your card has been removed by returning to the Apple account information screen. Under Payment Type, it should say that there is no credit card on file.

Sir, I am one of those people that are using their ipad as a computer. I don't have a computer that I can log into iTunes with and change my debit card to none. The latest iOS update seems to have removed that option. So with that said how do I go about removing my debit card from my account with out having to make a new Apple ID? There has to be a way, I would think for legal issues anyways.

Hi,

I have an iPad with Retina (4th one), and I am running iOS 7.0.4. If I tap settings, iTunes and App stores, and then my Apple ID, then view Apple ID, I am presented with my account information. I select payment info - and it asks for my security code (CVV from back of card). After I do that, and verify that it is my account, I can then select the Payment method of NONE.

Do you not see the same option after verifying your account?

You've tried just logging into your account, e.g. by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on an iOS device, Store > View Account on a computer's iTunes - that is what you've tried ? If you owe iTunes money, or a family organiser in family sharing, or possibly if you have an auto-renewing subscription, you won't get the 'none' option : Why can’t I select None when I edit my Apple ID payment information? - Apple Support
