Q: Stolen phone. Is it Erased?

Yesterday I got my phone stolen. I located it on iCloud: Find my phone. After a while the phone dot was offline (I'm asuming because the battery ran out).

I tried to erase it and it said erasing in progress, but I never got a confirmation email that it was erased.

Today I went on iCloud find my phone and the phone was no where on the map.

 

Question:

Has the phone been erased?

 

Is there anything else I need to do?

 

When I go to buy a new phone will I have problems getting all my original contacts?

    There is no way for us to know if the phone was erased or not.

     

    Was the phone protected with a passcode? If not, you should change your iCloud password to protect any data store in iCloud.

     

    On your new iPhone just sign back into your iCloud account and all your contacts and calendars etc will return.
