Q: Why do I not get the airplay symbol on my Iphone 4s

Why doesn't my airplay show up in the control center on my Iphone 4s. It clearly states on the apple support froms that it supports Iphone 4s. I have done everything reset my modem and router, restore my iphone and computer but nothing works. My macbook air has airplay but it wont find my iphone and yes there both under the same internet.

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.4

It is not possible to airplay content from an iPhone to a computer or from a computer to an iDevice.

AirPlay sends content from a computer or iDevice to an ATV or AirPlay enabled receiver/speaker.

In order for the airplay symbol to appear, the device must be near an Apple TV.

Your MacBook Air cannot display content from your iPhone without some additional software (such as AirServer or Reflector). Either of those programs will turn your MacBook into an Airplay receiver (like the Apple TV) and allow you to stream content to it.
