Is there such a thing as HDMI to Mini Displayport?

I'd like to use devices with HDMI output on my apple display, but the display only recieves through its male mini displayport plug. Through all of my googling, I still can't find an adapter that takes female or male HDMI and outputs in female mini displayport. Do they exist? And if so, where do I purchase one?
