All Mac notebooks heat up to some degree. When you say "After Browsing" what type of browsing are you doing? Some types take a lot more system resources than others. Like viewing videos will make the system hotter than reading news articles.
What is hot? Install istat menus:
http://bjango.com/mac/istatmenus/
Open Activity Monitor and set it to show ALL PROCESSES and set CPU to display values from high to low.
When the MBP gets 'hot' post images of both for inspection.
Ciao.
Ya, when i saw browsing, simple net browsing doesn't really heat it up!! but if i watch a video over the net, namely from netflix, after 40 mins, its kind of hot.. not unbearably hot like my previous dell laptop, but its still uncomfortable!!
Also, not that the video was played using safari with flash plugin!!
Thanks OGELTHORPE. I have just installed the iStats. I will monitor the temperature and post a pic later today!!
Many think the MBP is a "laptop" but it is a "notebook". They put it on their legs and their legs absorb the heat that should be allowed to dissipate into the air. Ir should be on a flat hard surface. Worse is when they let it sit running on a blanket with no chance to dissipate heat off the bottom cover.
anyways, the temperature of the CPU proximity captured using IStats is at 145 F, after 45 - 1 hr of video play. I am not sure, if thats the norm.. please let me know, if there is something wrong with it.
145°F is COOL after 45-60 minute of video. Nothing wrong with your Mac or the cooling/heat reduction system in it.

!45°f is within acceptable limits. Note that the aluminum case for the MBP is a part of the heat dissipation system so when it gets noticeably warm it actually is performing the function that it designed for.
Ciao.
Thanks for the replies everyone!!
Hey I know you posted this a long time ago. However just wanted also say that 145f is cool. I purchased a refurb MacBook Pro 13 late 2013 and after 30- 60 min of watching Netflix it would reach up to 177f or 81c. Now that's hot. So you shouldn't worry about you Mac, it working great. I am also glad I read your post because after reading your post I sent mine back to get a new one.
I also bought a refurb Macbook Pro late 2013 13", and I'm having the same problems, I think that my MB is too hot...
I'm using Netbeans, listening radio on chrome, and the temperature is like yours... I'm little scary, is that a whole series problem, or just some of they, like mine and yours?
Did they changed you that one, and gave another one?
