My ipod nano won't complete the restore process! HELP!

iPod Nano (purchased 2006) has suddenly stopped working. Followed the restore process but it still isn't working. The ipod, when connected to my PC, is displaying Do Not Disconnect in the old school Apple font. It isn't registering in iTunes and my PC keeps wanting to format Disk F (which is the iPod) but won't complete the formatting process.

Can anyone help me fix my trusty old iPod nano?

It's possible that the iPod's flash storage has become faulty.

You can try putting the iPod into Disk Mode

If that works, connect the iPod and run iTunes. If iTunes prompts you to do a Restore, do it and see if the result is any better.
