Dec 16, 2013 7:45 PM in response to Texas Mac Manby Roy Caratozzolo,None of the generic pages work for this issue. Many people have had issues logging into facetime on MAC OS 10.9.
I have had this issue as well.. ever since I went from 10.8 to 10.9. I CAN NEVER LOG IN TO FACETIME. Yet it worked forever since it came out for me on my mac mini 2011.
I have looked in the console and see errors such as this:
12/16/13 10:18:50.918 PM identityservicesd[285]: [Warning] ***** Could not find an account with unique ID {id hidden}
It is some long hash number.... I am not sure what it is referring to as my Apple Id has been the same like forever.
12/16/13 10:17:50.916 PM FaceTime[429]: [Warning] Can't register a new account while we already have an account
This one is funny as I am logging in, NOT creating a new account.....
and then sometimes I get the error in red letters like JJONES mentioned.
Thank God for Skype, but I wonder if this has to do with messages integration... Apple messed up facebook video chat in a big way and I WANT IT BACK
Anyone have any insight? Do I need to call apple and use some applecare love on this?

Jan 26, 2014 3:37 PM in response to Anne Houleby IpadMax,I was wondering if a solution was found for this. My mother is experiencing the same issue. Her ipad was working fine and then after returning from vacation and not using it for a couple days, she is getting a "sign in to connect to facetime" box that won't let her use anything in her ipad and won't accept her login or close so she can ignore it. We've done resets and tried connecting to iTunes on her PC, but facetime doesn't appear to remove. I think that is because they include it as part of the OS now. Anyway, she is unable to use her ipad until we can get this fixed. She is on ipad 2 with up to date ios.
