why can I not sync my apple tv with windows 8 itunes latest version

I have a new apple tv. I have upgraded the software, configures it to use my wireless network and have also installed the latest Itunes on my windows 8 computer.I can not sync the device with Itunes. he device does not show up at all. The apple tv does work fine on my tv however. I haVE TRIED EVERYTHING, FROM RESETTTING THE ROUTER, aPPLE tv, the TV itself and resetting the windows computer. I opened UDP port 5353 on my Mcafee program.. Nothing works
