Is there a wireless router that works with 10.9 I will also need an extender?

I upgraded to 10.9 and it or I killed my wifi that had worked rather well for 1 1/2 years. Linksys tech attempted to help me but wanted me to buy a newer model I felt she were clueless or shaddy at best or both.

Been online searching for a top of the line router with no luck since I have no way of knowing if it will work with 10.9. All I can find is routhers that do not work with 10.9.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Routers are not dependent on the version of Mac OS X or Linux, or Windows, or IOS or any other OS you are running on your computers, pads, or Phones.

If you killed your Router, it was not the upgrade to 10.9 Mavericks that did it.

The new Apple Routers are very nice, and support a higher-bandwidth protocol 802.11ac (when used with NEW Macs).

Some of those folks have had the WiFi die in their Macs because configuration problem were carried forward from previous versions.

That is not a dead router, that is a Mac problem. And the fix is, to use

System preferences > Network > WiFi > (Assist me) > Assistant ...

... and set it up again from scratch, INCLUDING a new "Location".

Close the window and save changes when complete.

A Restart is occasionally required to get everything to take effect.

What I use and love: Netgear R6200 (no longer top of the line but gets through brick and maintains 35Mb signal at 30 ft. and is $100 less than when I bought it seems so short a time ago.

I don't (Mac Pro 1,1) run 10.9 which while I can find issues wth some Macs and wifi and with Apple routers, I would look at what you use for your Mac Pro to add wireless which might.
