Q: MAIL won't quit. and I can't force quit. the 'quit' prompt is grey, can't be accessed.
I can't quit Mail. the prompt is greyed out.
i can't force it quit either.
it feels buggy.
what to do?
i can't even trash it...

Force quite the process in finder. Open Finder, press Shift-Command-U, double-click on Activity Monitor, cick on Mail under Process Name (click on the Memory tab at the top if you're having trouble clicking on it), then click the Kill Process "X" on the top left (see image below), then click Force Quite. Then restart your Mac and try Mail again.
