Apple TV not starting up

Apple TV not starting up. I have reset it, the logo appears then disappears. Blank screen with the status light flashing slowly

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Does the status light stop blinking after a while or does it just carry on, are you able to try the unit on another TV.
