Mail keeps asking for password and icloud setting do not load in system preferences

Hi,

I have a mac mini server with mavericks, i have 2 iMacs as clients running mavericks too, when i use iMac (A) mail app and icloud work fine, them i take iMac (B) and mail app start asking for password , it just won't take the password, icloud do not load and cannot use anything else on system prferences because it locks system preferences, i need to force quit system prefrences , so I return to iMac (A) and i get same behaivor as iMac (B), i would appreciate your help for finding a solution for this.

All network users get the same behaivor, local users do not get this behaivor.

Thanks

Hector

Hector;

I would read through everything here (especially earlier posts until resolutions appear). What made everything work for me is detailed there, but in very short summary:

  1. Running server as .local
  2. Running DNS on server, and all manually entered.
  3. All clients are using the server as DNS.
  4. Any changes you make to the name under which you serve, kinda requires you blow away the open directory and redo. Reinstalling the server does not do much, but blowing away the open directory resets everything (and yes, users too), and cleans up the mess.

However, everything does not work. Mail <-> Keychain problems remain with Maverick 10.9.1 / Server 3.0.2 as I stated previously.

I can go on a rant here regarding Apple not being what it used to be, and starting with Lion, every piece of software that came out of Apple for Mac had been subpar and buggy, not unlike M$. But after spending way too many hours to resolve these issues, I try to keep all that frustration bottled up. My opinion, however, is that Maverick 10.9.1 / Server 3.0.2 is basically unacceptable junk.

I just ran into the Mail/Keychain issue tonight. This was the final straw for my home server project. I simply can't waste this much time debugging my Mavericks server.

Time Machine and Caching seem stable so I may leave them running but DNS causes problems with guest network use on our AEBS and network accounts with their SMB share issues are too time consuming for me to fix as a home server admin.

Hi Ali,

Same thing here no fix for our keychain issue with 10.9.2 & server app 3.0.3.

I am still having the file sharing issue where users keep connected even when they are logged out, I did your recomendations above and did not fix my issue, I see a few apple discussions that are having same issua as mine, any other thoughts that you may have?

Thanks Again,

Hector
