external hard drive will not mount?

Hi,

My External HDD will not mount.

Cannot mount, or repair disk in disk utility.

Disk Warrior says it is a disk hardware failure (-36, 2747).

Following the input of "diskutil list | open -ef" into terminal gives the following information.

/dev/disk1

#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER

0: Apple_partition_scheme *2.0 TB disk1

1: Apple_partition_map 32.3 KB disk1s1

2: Apple_HFS Pod 2.0 TB disk1s3

Disk Utility gives the following information.

Disk Description : WD Total Capacity : 2 TB (2,000,365,289,472 Bytes)

Connection Bus : FireWire Write Status : Read/Write

Connection Type : External S.M.A.R.T. Status : Not Supported

Connection ID : 5891262147710078 Partition Map Scheme : Apple Partition Map

I did three things which may have caused this, in the following order. (Yes I know I shouldnt have played with sharing!)

1. I Changed the 'Sharing & Permissions' in the HDD 'Get Info' for Staff and Everyone both to 'Write Only'

2. Updated to 10.9

3. Moved the HDD around rearranging furntiture.

Any help would be appreciated, there is alot of data on the disk and I do not want to have to salvage it.

Thank you,

Alex

Can you try on a windows computer?

No

If you take the HD out of its enclosure do up have another enclose to try?

Don't want to remove the HDD from the WD enclosure, not sure what that may entail and I do not have another WD enclosure to try it in.

Or better yet connect directly to a computer

Mac Mini so no.
