LED light on back - how long it's designed to last?

I woke up this morning to discover the LED light on my 4S was on. It was around 90% six hours ago and it was 30% when I discovered it. Is it possible that I permanently damaged the LED light and how long is it designed to last? Also, is it likely that the light drained 10% per hour if I did leave it on for six hours? I'm pretty sure it was off like usual when I slept because it was dark.

Don't know the exact specs for the one in the iPhone, but as a rule, the life expectancy of an LED is about 50,000 hours. That's around 5.7 years of continuous use. i wouldn't worry about it.

The LED light is designed to last for a very long time. It will be perfectly fine. I had a problem with my phone where the LED light was stuck on and it lasted for weeks until i got a replacement
