Q: error -10 when printing

I get an error -10 when I launch printing on any of my printers (USB or Wifi).

I have acces to the printers utilities but all the doc I send are adding to the queue list and never get printed.

This appeared sundenly after years of perfect connection !

    Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues printing from OS X. The following article outline troubleshooting information, which may help to resolve this issue:

    USB printers and Bonjour-enabled network printers

     

    Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:

     

    1. Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.

     

    2. Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.

     

    3. Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.

     

    4. Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.

     

    5. Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.

     

    If the issue persists, try these additional steps:

     

    1. Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.

    2. If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again.  Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.

    3. Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.

    Hi arthud.jf: Perhaps try this and see what happens, it worked for me and you won't have to delete or download anything: Go to print your document and in the print window see "Printer," use the down arrow to choose "add printer" and add your printer again; you'll then have 2 versions, new one with -1 after it which will be the working one. I don't know how to delete the old nonworking one but don't think it will do any harm being there unless it wastes memory. Just be sure the new one is chosen in your print menu and you're good to go. Or maybe not in your case, or you've alraady solved this? Hope you'll let me know.
