Cannot disable root user

I have tried disabling my root user, but am not able to do this.

My computer is my own and I am the only administrator and user, who has ever existed on my computer.

I have tried disabling my root user, but without succes.

The "Disable root user" seems to be greyed out, though it is still active, if I try to log in as root user.

Any help?

Thank you in advance

Be sure to be logged in as an admin user.

Open Terminal and type

dsenableroot -d

the system will prompt you like this

username = youradminuser
user password:

youradminuser is the name of the user you are logged in. Type in your admin user password and confirm. Please note that the password won't be echoed.

After a couple of seconds you'll get

dsenableroot:: ***Successfully disabled root user.
