Q: Startup Items Hwnetmgr, HWportdetect etc.

Hello,

 

In my SYSTEM INFORMATION app, I see the following start-up items and I was wondering if they can be safely deleted.

 

hwnetmgr, hwportdetect, startouc, tap, tun

    Have you installed Huawei MobileConnect ? These things are automatically installed and are needed for it to work flawless.

    The Huawei software is crap software.

    If you have a backup of this software (on a CD that came with your dongle or with a phone), uninstall it (SystemPreferences) and delte the leftovers (as you named them) in Finder. Restart the Mac and check that your phone works. The dongle will probably not work without the software.
